Venture Capital Firms Located in New Mexico, New York, North Carolina and North Dakota

Below are some contacts for Venture Capital Firms to help you in your search for capital. Please, come back often, since I will be updating the Website and the lists as often as possible. I have tried to include specific information and resources to help you save time with your research and developing your own contact list. Check out as many as you can and keep notes of any information you get to avoid calling the same investors twice. You should contact as many firms as possible, because you never know which one will be interested.

Please check out Other Funding Sources to Consider for Venture Capital. This section contains great insights into funding sources that you might not have considered. The information found there can help you to develop leads and network with others in the financial field.

I will keep adding to this Contact List of Venture Capital Firms from time to time. Please Contact Me if you would like to add any contact information to the list if you are a VC firm located in New Mexico, New York, North Carolina or North Dakota . If possible include the size investments your firm typically makes and describe what areas you invest in. For example do you only invest in a one industry such as technology, medical, or electronics.

If you are an entrepreneur or company looking for funding, try to narrow your search to only those contacts that you really feel may be interested in funding your company. This will save you valuable time by streamlining your search, not to mention reducing your stress factor.

When making your decision of which Venture Capital Firms to contact, you should examine two factors: 1. the dollar amount you are seeking and 2. the type of industry in which that particular VC firm typically makes an investment. Some Firms are smaller and only fund up to $1 of $2 Million, while the larger firms won’t fund anything under $10 Million. If they did they would have too many companies (investments) to oversee and monitor. Bottom line, don’t waste your time with the larger VC firms if you are only looking for up to $2 Million.

I highly recommend that you visit Venture Capital and Private Equity Firms. This is a good resource that contains lots of information on Venture Capital Firms. It has lots of great tips and useful information to help you understand how Venture Capital and Private Equity Firms operate. It should increase your chances of raising Venture Capital.

Also, check out Preparing an Effective Business Plan for some guidelines on fine tuning your Business Plan so you can make a great first impression on potential investors. Preparing a professional and effective Business Plan is your first step to raising capital. I can’t stress PREPARATION and RESEARCH enough. You can actually do more harm than good to your capital raising efforts if you start off on the wrong foot. The information and tips contained in this section will help you start off on the right foot.

In early 2002, Harris & Harris Group announced that it would concentrate its new business activities exclusively in a single focus: tiny tech, including nanotechnology, microsystems and microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) technology.
Their fundamental approach to evaluating tiny-tech companies does not depart from the classical venture capital approach that they have taken over the years with other types of technology. This approach begins with these questions: does the prospect have solid management, a product or service that fills a real need, proprietary technology, and is it aimed at a market of significant size? They also look at ease of market entry and how challenging it may be for a company to secure customers. As early-stage investors, they also look at a startup's ability to attract additional investment, whether in later rounds of venture capital financing or through an IPO or acquisition, and they like to see the startup team include someone with proven experience launching and building a company. Overall, they look for proprietary technology as a good building block around which a company can grow, with people involved who care deeply about what they are creating and building.
